Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association

Malk Family Vineyards

At the base of the palisades, Malk Family Vineyards is situated directly below the home of owner Brian Malk. Surrounded by a mixture of live and black oak trees, the vineyard property begins with a gentle slope at the base, edging the valley floor on the eastern slopes of the Stags Leap District.

As the smallest producer in our District, Malk Family Vineyards' 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is completely hand-crafted, from farming to winemaking. On these two acres, the vines are trained to a unilateral cordon with a vertical trellis system.

Purchased in 1997, the property has been farmed with meticulous care. Low yields and a philosophy to produce as a winegrower, ensure the fruit is the highest quality from vintage to vintage.

The wines are made under the watchful eye of winemaker Robbie Meyer, who has been making wines for many years, working with such clients as Peter Michael Winery, Lewis Cellars and L'Angevin.

Mr. Meyer's goal is to produce wines that are a reflection of the vineyard and the district, wines approachable in their youth with ripe fruit, and are supported with full body and rich tannins — a signature of Stags Leap District.
